Of course, you will see the need for time. There will be questions like what do I do first and will I be able to leave my day job at some point.

Chasing Your Dreams

From personal experience, it is not as much as the business world hurdles that can make startup business a difficult prospect. In fact, it is the people around you that will discourage you from taking this step. They are right to some extent. When you are just beginning in the real world or you have a family, you need stability in life. A good job at a good corporate company will set you up. Moreover, it is these jobs that actually provide you with the training and experience, which will come in handy if you ever start a business.

However, in the end, you will remain unsatisfied unless you fulfil your dreams. It was the same for me. I had multiple good jobs but I always had this urge that I should have my own venture. It just never went away.

I believe that your determination can take you ahead despite the hurdles you will experience. I will be honest with you. When I was thinking of how to start a business, I knew there will be problems. And there were. It took some time to get everything on track but eventually things start to work out. I think the fact that I was determined to achieve my dreams is one important factor that played into my success.

How to Start a Business While Employed

If you are already employed and looking for an opportunity on how to start a business while employed, then you must prepare for facing possible problems.

Your first step is to decide your plan about the job you are currently working. Do you plan to keep it or leave at some point in the future as your own startup business starts to flourish? Most likely, you will leave the job if your business becomes successful and you are earning well through it.

You really need to think about managing the two together. This can greatly depend on your commitment. Your commitment towards the startup involves making your dreams come true. On the other hand, you can have varying reasons to why you want to jeep your current job. Always keep these reasons in the forefront of your mind so you can save your determination for it.

Be prepared to be constantly working. This is even true for those people who are starting a business without any existing employment. So when you are handling two jobs, you don’t have too much free time. What you need to remember is that this will pay off. Mostly it pays off with the satisfaction that you are doing what you have always wanted to do.

Talking about doing what you want, you must ensure that there is a market for the startup. Many failed entrepreneurs have reported the lack of market need for their product or service as the number one reason for failure.

It is not about ditching your idea completely just because you can’t validate it. If you have entrepreneurial thinking, you can twist your initial ideas and develop products or services that have value creation ability for the customers.
